Katie's Heart, our first festival in beautiful Pembrokeshire, West Wales.
This journey started six months ago and this was our first festival. We wanted to fill a few gaps that we both found as the wrong side of thirty year old women were appearing. We wanted to give back to Look Good Feel Better, the charity that helped Kate when she was ill. We wanted to learn new skills, meet new people and have fun. Well all of that we have done with bells on!

It's two years on from Kate being ill and I've noticed changes in her character. Hard to believe for those who know her but she has become even more positive. Nothing is too much effort and its time to achieve goals to try new things. Kate had never been to a festival so this was a first for her personally and a first for us as a business.
We arrived at the festival with a group of friends, set up camp, glittered all those around us and then set about enjoying the festivities.
The location in Pembrokeshire was stunning, right on a cliff top overlooking the sea. We had beautiful weather and its safe to say Katie loved it all (ish!). Next step for the future: from tent to campervan - but that's another story!
The Saturday we set up stall and worked all day, after finally going to bed at 6am! We glittered, rhinestoned and hair braided whilst meeting loads of new fabulous festival friends.
£1 of every sale we made was for Look Good Feel Better.
We are proud to say we raised £110 for this awesome charity at this event!
This festival was all about family fun, sharing and volunteering. It really was a fabulous experience. If you have never been to a festival and are unsure, pick a local one like this on a campsite with great facilities. There was a huge parade in the evening and it was great to join in and see all the glittery faces!
Sunday was a busy day, after another 6am bedtime! #kidsworkshop #discoboots #festivalbling #upcycling #volunteering
As within the festival's ethos we ran a free children's bling workshop. We asked parents to have their little ones turn up with either trainers or caps or t-shirts, anything they did not mind us up-cycling. We provided the biodegradable glitter, glue, rhinestones and magic gem pens. We set about glittering everything in sight!
Our first festival experience was amazing and we are excited for our next bookings this summer. We learnt loads and met some wonderful people but most importantly we had fun! Next stop... campervan shopping. Katie's Heart is going mobile! Watch this space! Thanks to everyone at the festival for getting involved and being part of our journey.
We end with our next news instalment, drum roll...
Not deflecting from this current gorgeous weather, however...
See you at the Cardiff Christmas Market with our knitwear, in our own elves wooden cabin!
Signing off from Katie's Heart, Ho ho ho and a big cheers with a mug of mulled wine
